My approach emphasizes the whole person rather than simply the presenting problem. I combine practical, evidence-based interventions with a strong focus on the therapeutic relationship, trauma awareness, and the client's relationships and life experiences.
My therapeutic style is integrative, relational, trauma-informed, and client-centered. Rather than relying on one modality, I draw from several approaches depending on the client’s needs, goals, and presenting concerns.

Modalities
⟡ Client-Centered Therapy — a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients can feel heard, understood, and accepted. The therapeutic relationship is central to our work, with an emphasis on the client’s experiences, values, and goals guiding the process.
⟡ Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) — clients explore the connections between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and identify patterns that may be contributing to distress. CBT can provide practical tools for developing healthier thought and behavioral patterns.
⟡ EMDR — Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing can be incorporated in therapy when appropriate to help clients process distressing or traumatic experiences and reduce the emotional intensity associated with them. Check out this short video to learn more about EMDR: Introduction to EMDR Therapy.
⟡ Family Systems Therapy — considers the broader relational context in which clients live. This includes exploring family dynamics, communication patterns, roles, boundaries, attachment, and how relationships can influence an individual's emotional well-being.
⟡ Trauma-Informed— recognizes the impact that trauma and difficult life experiences can have on emotions, relationships, behaviors, and the nervous system. I emphasize safety, trust, empowerment, and helping my clients develop greater awareness and regulation.
⟡ Motivational Interviewing —a collaborative, non-confrontational approach to help clients explore ambivalence, identify their own reasons for change, and move toward goals that are meaningful to them.
