When Big Emotions Feel Overwhelming
Sometimes, children have big feelings they don’t yet have the words to explain. You might notice changes in behavior, struggles at school or with friends, frequent meltdowns, or more tension at home.
These challenges can leave parents wondering how best to help. You may find yourself unsure of what your child needs or how to respond in the moment. It can be hard to know when to offer comfort, when to set limits, or how to help your child work through emotions that feel bigger than they can manage. Over time, these challenges can leave you feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, or questioning whether you’re doing enough.

Child therapy offers a space for your child to feel safe, understood, and supported as they learn to navigate their emotions and the world around them. Through conversation, play, creative activities, and age-appropriate strategies, we’ll work together to help your child build emotional awareness, develop coping skills, and work through challenges.
Parent support is an important part of this process, too. Together, we’ll explore what may be behind your child’s behavior and find practical ways to strengthen connection, build understanding, and make family life feel a little more manageable.
Why I Work With Children and Families
Working with children is where I first fell in love with therapy.
For 11 years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with school-aged children and their families. I’ve continually been inspired by children—their honesty, their willingness to try new things, and their incredible ability to grow through hard things. They remind me that growth doesn’t have to be perfect to be meaningful.
Through this work, I’ve come to understand just how much the relationships surrounding a child matter. Sometimes, big emotions and challenging behaviors are a child’s way of communicating something they don’t yet have the words to express. I believe children deserve a space where they feel safe, understood, and supported as they learn to navigate their emotions and the world around them.
I also believe parents are an important part of that journey. Child therapy isn’t just about helping children manage difficult feelings or behaviors; it’s about understanding what they may be experiencing and finding new ways for the family to connect. When children feel understood and parents feel more confident in how to support them, meaningful change can extend beyond the therapy room and into everyday family life.
I offer child therapy in Rancho Cucamonga and the Inland Empire, with telehealth available throughout California when clinically appropriate. Whether your child is struggling with anxiety, big emotions, challenging behaviors, or changes at home or school, we’ll work together to help them build coping skills and feel more understood. Along the way, we’ll explore practical ways to support your child and strengthen connection at home.
